I was wondering the same thing as I am on CD 11 of my first clomid cycle. I went to another bulletin board and found a link to this helpful ovulation calculator. You enter the date you started taking Clomid and it will tell you the window that you most likely will ovulate in. Keep up with the opks, it ll go positive soon, just might be later than you expected :) My insurance co. But be careful I have also read a lot about women still ovulating as late as CD 25. wont cover Clomid, so I get it online to save money. I am on my 4th month of Clomid after a horrible ectopic pregnancy and I was told to not have sex every day but to wait at least 24 hours and I was told the 10th and 14th day after the first day of your period is the best! So I think the best bet is to us Ovulation tests and continue to use them until you get a positive or it has been more than 35 days since your last period. I went to another forum and found the code * CLMD2GET *. I mostly hear the 14th day is the best :) I will try this month and hope for the best :) Good Luck! Here's the link to the website: Dont worry too much, clomid makes a lot of women ovulate later than they are used to. I hope this works :) my doctor told me to start taking clomid 3 days after i started my mentrual. You take it for 5 days then buy a clean blue ovualtion and watch for your high days and then you do it on the high days. Also, my husband's counts are all normal as well. First, it can help you release more than one egg thus increasing your chances. ran a series of blood tests (all normal), confirmed that my tubes are fine and has confirmed that I am ovualting. My husband and I have been trying since December 2007, so last month we tried 50 mg of clomid on days 5-9. Question is...there any benefit to clomid with regular ovualtion? Also, has anyone tried the clear blue easy ovulation predictor kits? Also, it can improve the quality of the egg you are releasing. I tried clear blue easy OPKs with clomid and it worked well. Atleast it's been confirmed you are ovulating....that's half the battle. didn't do an ultrasound following my 1st cycle of clomid, which I found odd. They are expensive, but at this point I do not care! Just make sure you start testing at least 2 days after your last clomid pill or else you can get a false positive. I ovulate on my own, but just had my first cycle of clomid, 50 mg. I am starting Femara this month, but it is similar as far as overall effect. My doctor says (as Helen72 did) that it can increase egg quantity. Try not to read too much into the Down syndrome warning....friend was pregnant with twins and her dr. I ovulate regularly, but my RE says it may improve ovulation and produce more than one egg, which could improve my chances of conceiving. I had an ultrasound after taking the clomid & had one 18mm egg in my left ovary. Clomid and Femara will not necessarily lead to a better outcome (m/c rates are still the same as without), but the superovulation may improve the odds that one egg will make it. So, maybe that means without clomid, my eggs were not as big? She also said the Clear Blue Easy OPKs are the most reliable.
Depending on your fertility issues or overall health, a doctor might prescribe drugs other than clomiphene. Clomiphene can help men who have a hormonal imbalance linked to low sperm count, or poor sperm quality or motility. Clomiphene treatment can be an emotionally intense process for some women because they're anxious about their body's response to the medication. Women taking clomiphene also have to go to the doctor's office frequently for monitoring. Here's how it works: It depends on how regular a woman's menstrual cycle is and how many times she has to try before she gets pregnant. It can take a month or two of drug therapy – with a dosage increase, if necessary – before ovulation begins. Once ovulation occurs, it can take three to six cycles of treatment. Most doctors don't recommend using clomiphene for more than six treatment cycles. If you don't succeed after three cycles, the doctor might add another medication or suggest a different treatment. It is one of the first drugs a fertility specialist will use in a woman who is suffering from ovulation problems. Clomid acts like an anti-estrogen on the pituitary gland, making the pituitary gland put out more luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle stimulating hormone (FSH). These, in turn, act on the ovaries, telling them to stimulate one or more follicles prior to ovulation. Of course, this means that the ovaries, the hypothalamus, and the pituitary gland must be fully operational in order to work. Clomid works best on women who don’t make enough estrogen. In the beginning, Clomid is taken at a dose of 50 mg per day for five days in the beginning at the cycle. It can be started the 3 day after the menstrual bleeding has started. If 50 mg of Clomid does not work, then 100 mg of Clomid are used each day in the same way that 50 mg of Clomid was used.
